The Great Outdoors

Hello every one.

This layout brings back so many good memories.The-Great-OutdoorsWe “camped” in our living room, and I am sure almost all parents do this at some stage.

Thank goodness it was inside, I am a creature of comfort and would not survive a real camping adventure.The-Great-Outdoors-Detail-#1I combined Bo-Bunny papers with Seven Gypsies stickers. My title is a cutout from my Silhouette Cameo.The-Great-Outdoors-Detail-#2I even stitched on this one! Remember to tell the story, here I filled in a “check list” and handwritten some key information.The-Great-Outdoors-Detail-#3I shall always remember my happy little camper watching television from his tent.

Guess he takes after me.

Have a great week and thank you for visiting.

Treasure and Embrace

A hearty welcome to you all.

I have been busy, busy, busy with mixed media the last couple of weeks.

Who knew it could be so much fun making such a mess with paint and then it turns out to be a nice piece of art!Treasure-#-1I just love the paper collaged on here. It is the Simple Stories “Homespun” paper pad.It gives it a very country feel.Treasure-#-2This is a 8 x 8 inch wooden panel. I sketched the bird and collaged the hearts on top of my background.Treasure-#-3

Treasure-#-4The sides was collaged as well and rounded off with some washi tape.Treasure-#-5Have some fun with mixed media, but beware, it is very addictive.

Have a lovely week and thank you for visiting.

Altered Bottle with Metal Flower

Hello lovelies.

Hope you are well and crafty!

I made another bottle and had way too much fun.Flower-bottle-#-1The flower is a metal trinket and I altered it with some red acrylic paint and a rhinestone in the center.Flower-bottle-#-2The bead on top was soldered on and rounded off with some chain.Flower-bottle-#-3The chain and birdie charm were attached to the cheese cloth. I placed it in such a way  that the pretty paper I modged on still showed it’s red roses.Flower-bottle-#-4The cheese cloth was stained with vintage stain and glued on the glass all around. When bundled it has quite a unique look to it.Flower-bottle-#-5Thank you for visiting, lets meet again soon.

Create Art

Hello again all my sweet friends.

I would like to share another mixed media canvas with you guys.Create-Art-#-1This is a 6 x 6 inch wooden panel. I applies layers and layers of media on it to create nice depth and texture.Create-Art-#-2This time I attached some metal butterfly wings to my red heart. I aged it with some acrylic paint and then vigorously rubbed it with a cloth. That way the paint only stay in the crevices.Create-Art-#-4Some drippies and stamping with bubble wrap, and of course many more stamps were applied.

(My name is Alana and I am a stampaholic.)Create-Art-#-3The sides looked so sad and empty just with the black, so more imagery made it look pretty.Create-Art-#-5I just couldn’t resist putting this bling doorknob on the top. The metal piece were also aged like the wings .Create-Art-#-6Hope you enjoyed the post. I would love to hear from you, so please do leave a comment.

The Cat’s Back

Hello dearest friends.

Don’t you just love this time of year? I am so confused by the weather I don’t know if it is spring, winter or summer! Every day is a surprise.

After a lovely 20 degree day yesterday we woke up this morning to a blanket of snow.

It keeps us on our toes!

A little scrapbook share this week.

Remember those days when face painting was a big thrill for the little ones.The-Cats-Back-LayoutThe imagination at that age is priceless don’t you think?The-Cats-Back-Detail-#2I used Bo-Bunny papers for this one, and lots of  stamping.The-Cats-Back-CollageThe leaf border is an EK-Success  punch, and the title is from Tim Holtz sticker books.The-Cats-Back-Detail-#1Must say I miss those innocent carefree days now that my son is a teenager.

Enjoy your weekend and hopefully spring will return soon here were I live.

Lots of good wishes to you all.
