If the Altered Shoe fits

Hello readers.

Who doesn’t like shoes? Ladies,…. anyone?

Since the first pair of  shoes were made I am sure women all over the world just adored them.

Although this is an old shoe form I just loved altering it into a prettier image.ALTERED SHOE For the pretty fabric rose I followed a tutorial of  Donna Courtney. You can find the tutorial here: Visit thedecoratedhouse.blogspot.comALTERED SHOE detail 1

The rest is done by stamping with permanent ink, and some chain details. I simply glued the metal embellishments down with Fabri-Tac.

It looks gorgeous on my craft studio wall.

Enjoy your weekend and remember if the shoe fits, buy it in every color….

Happy crafting everyone.

Best Buds Layout

Hello dear reader.

I am really fortunate to have such a beautiful son. Always smiling, doing his best to do the right thing and being kind and compassionate toward others. Since he was a little boy he had these amazing trademarks. He is growing up way to fast, and sometimes I miss the smaller boy who had no care in the world. Playing, friends, Lego and swimming were priority. These days he is in high school. Where did the time go?

Best-Buds-LayoutI scrapbooked this page of my son and his best friend from kinder garden. They were such good buddies and liked the same things and had the same interests. We lost contact through the years, but sincerely hope he is well and still smiling.Best-Buds-CollageHere I tried my hand at a bit more layering with paper. Overlapping some elements connects everything nicely.Best-Buds-Detail-1I also started to hand journal more on my pages. Scary at first, but once I did it it became more easy to do.

( You see, it is that thing of everything must be perfect.  At last I let go of that notion.)Best-Buds-Detail-2Do you also sometimes feel stressed out that things must be perfect? I would love to hear your comments on this.

Thank you for sharing this post with me.

Poultry Party Mini Album

Hello my Peeps!

Yes, today is all about my poultry party mini album.

To some of my closer friends it is no secret that I absolutely adore our winged, feathery friends. Not just chickens and ducks, but also any fluffy bird God created. Maybe it is their freedom to fly whenever they need some space, or maybe  their playful nature sometimes. Poultry-Party-CoverWouldn’t it be grand if we could just take off in the air (without the help of Air Canada) and go where we could take a deep breath in the safety of a tree until we are ready to face the world again?Poultry-Party-CollageI always have a birdbath in my garden and a feeder to see what bundle of joy will come along and make my day. Watching them take a bath is a real treat and very uplifting.Poultry-Party-Detail-#1Chickens make me always long for a simpler time, it is a nostalgic experience I can’t explain. Maybe it is because they are so homely and uncomplicated. All they need is food , water and their little families they look after and love.

Don’t even get me started on the chicks…………Poultry-Party-Detail-#2Chickens came a long way you know? What was first?….the chicken or the egg? And how about all those other quotes and jokes. I can see why they are the subject of mockery, they are quite funny. Observe them a bit and you can’t help but crack a smile at Mr Rooster strutting his stuff all over the yard, and how about Mrs Hen flirting past him with the rest of the ladies giving him the fluttery eye.Poultry-Party-Detail-#3This album was an absolute labor of  love and enjoyment.

I have put in my favorite happy making sunflowers, red gingham paper, polka dot ribbons, bees and stamping galore.

Thank you for visiting, feel free to leave a comment.

Vintage Altered Bottles

Hello everyone.

What a nice week so far.

We visited the Calgary GREAT CANADIAN SCRAPBOOK CARNIVAL! last week. It is hosted by Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine every year. Boy, did we have fun buying all those nice scrapbook goodies from some of the top retail stores in Canada. Next year I shall be crafting with the Calgary girls for sure.

Today I would like to share with you more bottle art.

I had a more romantic approach towards this project.1This was fun to make and I got to use beads, pearls and fabric and a variety of embellishments all together. 3For the pretty fabric rose on the tall bottle I followed a tutorial of  Donna Courtney. You can find the tutorial here: Visit thedecoratedhouse.blogspot.com

The tall bottle has a crackled effect. I got the idea from  Visit studio490art.blogspot.com (Wendy Vicchi).

And to top it all off the feather was added for a nice shabby chick look.2The fabric rose on the small bottle was attached directly onto the lid, how easy is that! You can even fill it with candy for a great gift.

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Crafting Everyone.
